27/366: From a Distance
I fly back to California tomorrow.
I saw a thunderstorm last night.
I saw lighting bugs tonight.
I saw the inside of a Skyline Chili.
I saw cornfields and silos and lush green grass.
I hugged my family for a few precious days.
Here are yesterday's close ups.
From a distance.
With a full heart.
I saw a thunderstorm last night.
I saw lighting bugs tonight.
I saw the inside of a Skyline Chili.
I saw cornfields and silos and lush green grass.
I hugged my family for a few precious days.
Here are yesterday's close ups.
From a distance.

25/366: Something Pink
I'm in Ohio for a few days.
At the home of grandparents.
The home that echoes with a lifetime of memories.
It's silent this evening.
It will fill with voices of family members later tonight.
I can't count the times I have walked or ran these halls.
The laughter.
The tears.
The love.
The sheer sense of the world suddenly righting.
Every time in my life I have walked through the door.
I look around.
I am overwhelmed.
Here is a little bit of pink.
From one of my favorite places in the world.

24/366: Animal
We don't have a pet.
We will.
Someday.
We already have his name picked out.
But that's for another time in our lives.
For now, we have this guy.
He belongs to the folks in the building behind us.
This is what I see everyday.
From my kitchen window.
I don't know his name.
Or what kind of dog he is.
But we talk to him all the time.
He can hear us from our window.
He will sit.
And listen.
Sometimes he will show off and play.
Then stop and look up to make sure we are watching.
Today I was.
Camera in hand.
We will.
Someday.
We already have his name picked out.
But that's for another time in our lives.
For now, we have this guy.
He belongs to the folks in the building behind us.

23/366: Sunflare
There are days when life throws you a curveball.
Then there are days.
When that curveball.
Smacks you right in the face.
And knocks you off your feet.
Today was the latter.
When life knocks the wind out.
My husband tells me to be strong.
I always imagine a steel rod.
That runs through the center of me.
Anchoring me.
Keeping me from crumbling.
Today I latched on to that imaginary strength.
With all that I had.
Through it all.
I must smile.
I must laugh.
I must keep my humor.
Today's assignment was sunflare.
I got home after the sun went down.
So here is my sun and my flair (ala Office Space).
Then there are days.
When that curveball.
Smacks you right in the face.
And knocks you off your feet.
Today was the latter.
When life knocks the wind out.

22/366: Hands
I stuck close to home tonight.
All the pictures were taken in our apartment.
My urge was to photograph our hands.
Joined.
Write about our wedding vows.
Instead I pushed myself.
Outside my sappy comfort zone.
To try and find the other hands.
That inhabit our 2 person household.
And this last one...
It's been done before.
But I've ALWAYS wanted to try.
So I leave you.
With my hands.
