221/366: Remember When?

Remember when
You didn't have to

Before catching a flight...

219/366: Hats

A hat is a flag, a shield, a bit of armor, and the badge of femininity. A hat is the difference between wearing clothing and wearing a costume; it's the difference between being dressed and being dressed up; it's the difference between looking adequate and looking your best. A hat is to be stylish in, to glow under, to flirt beneath, to make all others seem jealous over, and to make all men feel masculine about. A piece of magic is a hat.

218/366: A Very Good Day

Today.
Was one of those.
Monumental days.
When everything.
Magically falls into place.

Today was the start.
Of so many things.
So much that you will see.
So much I will share.
Over the coming months.

Then.
At the end of the day.
At  11:30ish pm...
Eastern...
7 pounds and 13 ounces of lovely.
Entered this world.

I love you darling niece.
Happy Birth Day.
We are so glad you're here.

217/366: Cabbage

I am lately.
Obsessed.
With the concept of cabbage.
As a flower.
Rather than cabbage.
As a vegetable.

It is popping up in flower beds.
Floral arrangements.
Wedding bouquets.
It is bright.
Colorful.
Beautiful.
Convienent if you get hungry.

216/366: Smoked

All day long.
As I sat at my sewing machine.
My neighbors down below.
Were smoking something.
In their grill smoker thingymabob.
That smelled decadent.

The scent of bar-b-que.
Drifted up through the window.
For hours.
It was heavenly.
And left me feeling hungry.
For hours.

Now.
I want a grill smoker thingymabob.
They smell REALLY good.

215/366: His Desk

I love my husband's desk.
It is filled.
With work stuff.
With toys.
With car parts.
It is uniquely his.
Right down.
To the wall of post its.
Next to the desk light.
And the Magic 8 Ball.
I sent him when we were dating.

I can't look at it.
Without smiling.

214/366: Peppers

Today.
For the first time.
In my thirty some years
I had green peppers.
On pizza.

I totally.
Loved it.

213/366: Dinner

Yes, this is my dinner.
It was wonderful.

We ate burgers from the grill.
With avocado slices.
And crispy crinkly fries.
Baked in the oven.

As we sat at that table.
In our jammies.
Talked about our day.
Made plans for our future.

It was simple.
It was normal.
It was sweet.
It was my favorite part.
Of today.

213/366: Do you hear what I hear?

One of the things.
That I love most.
About being able to hear.
After years of silence.

Is the sound of windchimes.
In our window.
Each morning.
