181/366: December 31

Though I want to be with you.
Be with you night and day.
Nothing changes.
On New Year's Day.

180/366: December 30

Tomorrow we will ring in the New Year.
With Friends.
At the happiest place on Earth.
Therefore, tomorrow's post.
Will be short and sweet.
So I wanted to take a moment tonight.
To give thanks.
For the wonder of 2011.

Tonight, we watched the movie Up!
It was so.
Amazingly.
Appropriate.

Life is filled with adventures.
That are ours for the taking.
I found many this year.
The greatest of which.
Was marrying my best friend.
In 2011.

For that...
All of the adventures.
Of my life.
Of our life
Will be rooted.
In 2011.

I am so excited for tomorrow.
For friends.
For laughter.
For Mickey Mouse.
But mostly...
I am excited.
To meet 2012.
I can't wait to see.
What adventures are waiting.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
We'll take a cup of kindness yet.
For auld lang syne.

Christmas is here.
Bringing good cheer.
To young and old.
Meek and the bold.

175/366: December 25

A thrill of hope.
The weary world rejoices.
For yonder breaks.
A new and glorious morn.

172/366: December 22

I still believe in Santa Claus...
Maybe that's.
Just because.
I'm still.
A child.
At heart...

171/366: December 21

There's a happy feeling
Nothing in the world can buy.

170/366: December 20

Through the years.
We all will be together.
If the fates allow.
But til then.
We'll have to muddle through.
Somehow...

169/366: December 19

He knows if you've been bad or good...

Saturday, December 17, 2011

167/366: December 17

But the prettiest sight you'll see.
Is the holly that will be.
On your own.
Front.
Door.

It's worth the wait the whole year through
Just to make happy someone like you...

157/366: December 7

Later on, we'll conspire.
As we dream by the fire.
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made...

150/366:One Dollar

Early in this adventure.
I was tasked with photographing.
Something green.
I chose to showcase.
The plants in our home.
That my husband so effortlessly grows.

Not long after.
I was passing the one dollar bins.
At Target.
They were full of these teeny.
Tiny.
Terra cotta.
Pots.
Grow your own herbs.

On a whim I selected basil.
Cilantro.
Parsley.
Exchanged my three dollars.
Brought my three tiny terra cotta pots home.
Put them on a shelf.
For months.
Untouched.
Daring me.

Finally.
Several weeks ago.
I worked up the confidence.
To plant my herbs.

My husband offers to water them.
I turn him down.
I am determined.
To GROW something.

Yesterday.
The first one sprouted.
I am SO proud.
The rest of them could die.
It won't matter.
I have a sprout.
That I.
Grew.
By myself.

Former killer of all things green.
Now a grower.
Of herbs.
That we can use.
While cooking.

Amazing.
The confidence acquired.
From one dollar.

149/366: Neighbors

I love having neighbors.
That are cool.

It is always such fun.
To spend an evening.
Talking and laughing.

And let the dishes wait.
Until morning.

148/366: The Simplest Things

Coffee table books.
Found in the clearance section.
Of Barnes and Noble.
Rate high on my list.
Of guilty pleasures.

147/366: On The Road

This morning we woke early.
6:00am.
To head home.
From our Vegas Thanksgiving.

Here is Cajon Pass.
In Southern California.
From the road.

145/366: Not So Black Friday

Today my husband.
Took me to his alma mater.
The campus was quiet.
Closed for the holiday break.
We walked.
Talked.
Held hands.
Kissed in the library.
Snuggled on a bench.
In the middle of falling leaves.
He told me about college.
I listened.
Observed.
Fell in love.
A little more.

There was no shopping.
No holiday crowds.
No discounts.
No deals.
We started the day with friends.
We ended the day with friends.
Spent time with family in between.
Spent time together in between.
It was perfect.
